Malaysia celebrates 48th independence day
Malaysia celebrated its 48th Independence Day on Wednesday. The Federation of Malaya declared its independence on Aug. 31, 1957. On Sept. 16, 1963, the Federation of Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore jointly formed Malaysia. Singapore ceased to be a member of the Malaysian federation and became an independent state on Aug. 9, 1965. As this year's parade theme was "Education: Foundation for Development of Human Capital". Primary, high school and college students were on the center stage. There are so many beautiful things to see here, the costumes and uniforms are fascinating. Pupils attired in traditional dresses of different races of Malaysia, performed songs and dances, winning cheers from the audience.
These are the snaps, which I have taken Independence Day celebrations in Penang.
